Hello Fellow Home Executives,
I felt is was necessary to address HTML code. HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is computer language. You do not need to be a computer guru to use it. I sprinkle it throughout my site, but www.gourmetbakingmixes.com is not written completely in HTML. There are a lot of web designers who do the same thing. If you have never used HTML code, it is not as hard as it seems. If you just learn the basics you can really punch up a website or blog and make a plane page really jump out and scream to be read. There are some great resources out there online and the two I've listed are FREE! The sites I used weren't the "end all be all" in every code you would ever need for HTML, but they gave me a good start. HTML Tutorial is a great place to start. This website gives you step by step instructions. It even lets you try out the code you created to see what it looks like. It was a big help to me because I knew nothing about HTML code before I got started designing my website. When I did design and publish my site without HTML code it was very "Flat". No excitement. Nothing jumped out at you and said READ ME! Then I looked up HTML Tutorial online and went through the tutorial. My site looked much more appealing. I still have much more to learn. HTML Tutorial is a great beginning, but not a complete guide. It definitely gave me more confidence in web design and now I use the little code I know all the time.
Check out HTML Tutorial if you need to put a little zing into your blog or website. After you have a feel for HTML try the link below.
Another site I really liked Bare Bones Guide to HTML. The name says it all.
Happy Blogging,
